Frank Lloyd Wright Mercedes Benz 300S Sedan & 300SL Gullwing

...Vintage Mercedes Coolness...

Frank Lloyd Wright
Mercedes Benz 300S Sedan & 300SL Gullwing

Frank Lloyd Wright is considered by many to be the greatest architect of the 20th Century, and he is pictured below standing in front of one the homes he designed, and he has is standing in front of his Mercedes 300S Sedan, which kind of looks like a Rolls Royce, and Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing.

The Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing is considered to be one of the most classic, iconic and collectable cars ever made. Frank Lloyd Wright also designed the Manhattan Mercedes Benz dealership located at 430 Park Avenue in New York City in the 1950s for Max Hoffman, who was a car importer.

Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous piece of residential architecture was likely "Falling Water" which is a residential home built on top of a natural waterfall, which is pictured below.

Auto Express Video Review of S-Class Coupe

Video Reviews of S-Class Coupe

The video above offers a super-detailed review of the all-new S63 Coupe, and in photos below we see what the car looks like with the opaque sunroof panel both in place, and also rolled up out of the way. Just to be crystal clear, this sunroof does not open up, and it offers an opaque window shade that slides back out of view to make the coupe seem much more like a convertible. This makes this open-air coupe feel even more like a convertible, and in my opinion, it is dramatic how different it looks with the shade in place, and well as when it is removed.

1961 Mercedes-Benz 300D Sedan

1961 Mercedes-Benz 300D Sedan
[Model W189]

Mercedes-Benz made the 300D from November of 1951 through March of 1962, and they made 11,430 examples of the model in that timeframe.  The Mercedes-Benz 300 was designed for the America market, and at the time, it retailed for the cost of 3 Cadillacs.

2014 Tesla Model S v. 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550

...Motor Trend Deep Analysis...

The Showdown Of Showdowns
2014 Tesla Model S v. 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550

The 2014 Tesla Model S and the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 are the two top sedans made today, and the question is which is better? I have a former employee, who now works for Tesla, and one day he called me up, just like Jerry Seinfeld on Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, and said, "Hey want to take a Model S for a serious test drive?" I took him up on his offer and I took this photo of the Tesla interior and did a blog post on Jake's Panerai World.

So I have driven the the Tesla, but I have not driven the Mercedes yet, so I really can't conclude, but based upon what I know, it seems like the Mercedes-Benz is better than the Tesla. Why? The Tesla was amazing but it drove more like a 911, or a sports car, which is nice, but I prefer real luxury over a sports car. The seats in the Tesla were nice, but they were not luxurious, and lacked massagers or built-in air-conditioning. Basically the interior of the Mercedes Blows away the Tesla.

Apparently Mercedes is working on a hybrid version of the S-Class, as well as a plug-in hybrid version of the S-Class, and I have to imaging Mercedes is working seriously on an all-electric S-Class, the only question is what is taking them so long? Also, hopefully Tesla will work on updating the interiors of the Model S Telsa. As they say, time will tell, but at this time, I agree with Motor Trend...

This review was profound to me, since I was seriously contemplating getting one of these two cars as my next sedan, and as of now, I was planning on getting the Mercedes over the Tesla. I am unusual though since I have been spoiled by driving Lexus LS models exclusively for the past few decades, so I know too much about an have a deep appreciation for real luxury, which the Tesla lacks...If I didn't know any better, or didn't care about serious comfort, I would probably prefer the Californian Tesla...
